A Data Association is used to show the flow of information between Data Elements and Activities. It defines the order of data flow in a process.
A Data Association has a source and a target.
A Data Association appears as a dotted line with an arrowhead.
Fill in this field in the Attributes tab:
Target Reference
Identifies the target of the Data Association. The target must be a Data Object, Data Input, Data Output or Data Store.
Select an existing target or create a new one:

Click New.
In the panel that opens, select the process where you want to create the target and provide a name, a description (optional) and indicate the data type (Item Definition) and default value.
Click Create and select.
