Heatmap

The heatmap is a visual tool that colors process elements based on the magnitude of a simulation output using a color scale that runs from hot (red) to cool (green). Hotter colors indicate higher values, cooler colors indicate lower values.

To view the heatmap:

1. Open the simulation results you want to visualize.

2. In the Simulation analysis panel, click Heatmap.

How to use the heatmap

In the toolbar, select the output you want to visualize and the diagram (if the project contains multiple diagrams).

1. Select an output.

   Click and select an output from the list.

   You can only visualize one output at a time.

2. Change the diagram.

   Click and select the diagram from the list.

3. View information on the outputs for each element.

   Click the element. A popup shows the values of the parameter you’ve chosen.

   Click More results to see additional information.

4. Change visualization using zoom controls and the mini-map.

   

Zoom and pan the heatmap

You can zoom and pan the heatmap using various tools: mouse, zoom toolbar and mini-map.

Zoom

• Mouse: press the Ctrl key and rotate the mouse wheel up to zoom in or down to zoom out.

• Zoom toolbar: click to zoom in and to zoom out.

Pan

Position the mouse pointer outside the heatmap area, press and hold the left mouse button and move the pointer to pan the view.

Zoom and pan with the mini-map

The mini-map provides a bird’s-eye view of your process, helping you find your orientation within the diagram. It’s especially useful for navigating large, complex diagrams.

To open the mini-map: in the zoom toolbar, click .

• Zoom in and out: Position the mouse on the mini-map and rotate the mouse wheel up to zoom in or down to zoom out.

• Pan : Click and drag the mini-map to move around the diagram.
